We are thrilled to present this transformative architectural endeavor, where we aim to convert a cold, Tudor-style home in Otago into a warm and well-insulated haven, offering breathtaking mountain and lake views. "Mountain View" encompasses both the lower and upper level renovations, creating a seamless and harmonious living space that maximizes the surrounding natural beauty.
Our approach involves a comprehensive reconfiguration of the entire property. On the lower level, we will remove the laundry, bedroom, kitchen, lobby, and bathroom, freeing up space for an open and inviting environment. By extending the lounge area out onto the existing decking, we create a natural connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing the occupants to immerse themselves in the stunning surroundings. The upper level wardrobe spaces will be removed to create a more efficient layout. A brand new bathroom and ensuite will be added, and the master suite will undergo a complete transformation, featuring a spacious walk-in wardrobe and ensuite with captivating views of The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. Additionally, the master suite will be extended partially over an existing balcony to provide panoramic views.
Throughout, we have introduced new triple glazed, thermally broken windows to enhance insulation and soundproofing. These windows will be strategically positioned and sized to capitalize on the uninterrupted views of Walter Peak, Cecil Peak, The Remarkables, Lake Wakatipu, and Mount Pisa, making the vistas a central feature of the home's design. Alongside this, we will improve insulation and linings throughout to optimize overall thermal performance.
The design has been thoughtfully tailored to include various sitting areas with outlooks, a large kitchen seamlessly connected to the dining and entrance spaces, and a spacious lounge area that serves as a hub for relaxation and entertainment.
A unique feature of Mountain View Home is the custom wine rack, thoughtfully integrated below the stairs on both sides, capable of holding up to 220 wine bottles. This striking display adds an element of sophistication and serves as a delightful feature of the home.
